Blue Marine Foundation

BLUE was established in 2010 by the team behind the film ‘The End of the Line’, which brought the world’s attention to the crisis of overfishing. BLUE enables the creation of marine reserves, establishes models of sustainable fishing and restores marine habitats. BLUE has helped protect over 4 million square kilometres of ocean and has been instrumental in encouraging the UK government to adopt its ‘blue belt’ policy to protect all 14 of the UK overseas territories. BLUE’s vision is a healthy ocean forever, for everyone. We aim to see 10% of the world’s oceans under protection by 2020 and 30% by 2030..
