Wilhelma, Zoologisch-Botanischer Garten Stuttgart

The Wilhelma in Stuttgart is the only Zoological and Botanical Garden in Germany. It showcases 1200 animal species as well as more than 9000 plant species in 28 hectares of historic parkland, making it one of the most biodiversity rich institutions in Europe. The Wilhelma is well reknown for its successful breeding of many threatened species, taking part in 90 EAZA ex-situ breeding programs (EEP). A strong emphasis is placed on education. Since 2014 the financial support for worldwide conservation efforts has been greatly increased, making it one of its main missions.
