Nihon Washitaka Kenkyu Center

The Japan Falconiformes Center (JFC) was established in 1982 for the preservation of traditional Japanese falconry and the conservation of wild raptor species in Japan. Falconry is traditional hunting art that trained raptor is used to catch quarry. Basic policy of falconry is sustainable use of wild raptors, and the skill is useful to manage live raptors. JFC applies falconry knowledge to the release program for wild raptors that were recovered from injury. JFC carries out field research for decades to conserve habitat of endangered raptors. The knowledge is provided to the conservation plan in the land development project.
