Foundation for Environmental Conservation

The Foundation has impact around the world through its publications (notably the interdisciplinary journal 'Environmental Conservation') and conferences (notably the International Conferences on Environmental Future). It promotes the production and dissemination of peer-reviewed information on geographically, ecologically and disciplinarily broad aspects of conservation science and/or management. The journal has a distinctive editorial process that includes pre-editing of papers particularly for non-native English speakers to reach peer review. The Foundation is monitored by the Swiss Federal foundation surveillance authority (ASF) in Berne. The Foundation’s board includes representative of IUCN (currently Jane Smart) and WWF (currently Jon Hutton). The President, Nicholas Polunin, has made significant scientific contributions to community ecology, and conservation science and management, and led three of the seven ICEFs.
