  •  The  Indus River Dolphin, also known as theBlind Dolphin, is found in the Indus River. It is the second most endangered freshwater dolphin species in the world.
  • The Markhor is the national animal of Pakistan. The country’s national bird is the Chukar partridge and the national flower is the Jasmine.  
  • The world’s longest glacial system outside the Polar Regions, the Biafo Glacier, is in Pakistan.
  • Pakistan is also home to the Ansoo Lake (Tear Lake).The shape of the lake resembles that of a tear. The lake also looks like a human eye with an eyebrow, which becomes prominent during the summer .
  • Pakistan is home to some of the highest peaks in the world, notably, Mount K2 or Chagori, the world’s second highest mountain.
  • Pakistan has the only fertile desert in the world, the Tharparkar desert located in Sindh province.
  • The Changa Manga forest in Pakistan was once the world’s largest man-made forest.
