The IUCN WCEL Climate Change Law Specialist Group (CCSG) aims at providing policy and legal input to the IUCN and its members with respect to legal issues involving climate change and its adverse impacts. The CCSG is a global network of lawyers, practitioners, judges, scholars, and professionals form cross-cutting disciplines.

Francesco Sindico is currently on secondment with the Scottish Government where he works as Carbon Neutral Islands Lead. He is also the Founder and Co-Director of the Strathclyde Centre for Environmental Law and Governance (SCELG) at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, Scotland where he is Associate Professor (Reader) in International Environmental Law at the Law School. He leads the EILEAN initiative at SCELG where he researches about law, islands and sustainability. Francesco is also very active in the climate law field and is the Founder and Co-Director of the Climate Change Litigation Initiative (C2LI). He has also worked extensively on international water law, an area where he provides legal advice to international organisations and governments before international courts.
