Cities Cluster
The Cities Cluster, part of the IUCN-WCEL Climate Change Law Specialist Group, operates as a global platform for disseminating knowledge and normative good practices in the field of cities and climate change. Cities have been for a while, and will be even more in the future, key actors in developing, shaping and implementing ambitious climate change mitigation and adaptation strategies. The Cluster will bring together practitioners and researchers interested both in the relationship between city climate action and more traditional international and regional legal settings. It will also highlight action from specific cities and transnational networks of cities engaged in promoting further climate action.
Cluster Leads:
Francesco Sindico, Professor of International Environmental Law, University of Strathclyde Law School and Co-Chair of the IUCN WCEL Climate Change Law Specialist Group
Angela van der Berg, Director at Global Environmental Law Centre (GELC) - University of Western Cape, Associate Professor, Department of Public Law and Jurisprudence, University of Western Cape.
